Example Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at CrossRiver Wilderness Centre by 5:00 p.m. After preliminary introductions with staff and facilitators, a hot evening meal will be served in the longhouse. After dinner, we will all gather around the campfire at the teepee encampment for a camp opening with games, stories, camaraderie, and music.

Day 2-7: All these days will evolve fluidly out of the relationships that occur, with no set itinerary, and will encompass various activities and experiences designed to awaken awareness in the natural world and surrounding relationships. Experiences could include: various nature-based games and interactive activities; nature or medicine walks; a river rafting excursion; nature and wellness ceremonies with a First Nations elder; wildlife viewing opportunities; plant life and ecology learning experiences; and group and team-building games and activities. Every night we will cap the day in a traditional sharing circle around the campfire, with more games, stories, and music, all geared towards nature and community-based awareness. The teepees will be our accommodation, with boys and girls in separate teepees.

Day 8: After one final breakfast together, we part ways until next time.
